In response to the D&AD New Blood Awards Monotype Creative Brief, my solution presents a new visual language to depict film advertising through a festival campaign, both print and digital. Shadows of Fincher promotes a retrospective select screening and reflects the theme found throughout his films: normality and uniformity unwind in unexpected ways when deception creeps in from the shadows.

Inspired by the texture and geometry of paper, the mainly typographic response plays on shape and shadow when the seemingly normal starts to fall apart. The colour pallet also conveys a stark intensity through grey scale forms and heavy-temperature shadows, along with a contrasting punch of blood red.

In memory of my dear friend Lucas Peel; a life-long Fincher fan.
